Simplicity....is it anywhere to be found?

I can only hope that I am accepted into the blog world with open arms. For those of you who don't know me, I will give you a brief description of my life and my family. I am a 37 year old mother of 2 who has been married to my wonderful husband, Rich, for 15 years now! The last few years of my life has been anything but SIMPLE! Our world was turned upside down when my oldest daughter, Haley, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of 3 months. She was beautiful, smart, determined, inspirational and so much more. About 3 years ago, her health took a turn for the worse and our focus and mission in life was to do everything possible to help her beat this disease and buy her enough time for a double lung transplant. Unfortunately, God had a different plan for her. Haley passed away in June, 2008 at the age of 12. The path our lives have taken over the past few years have been full of complicity, heartache, pain and depression. Lucky for us, we have another beautiful daughter Brenna, who keeps us going everyday. So where do the 3 of us go from here?? That is the question! We are looking for a new direction in our life and are hoping to simplify things a bit and try and become that loving family again that we were when the 4 of us were together.

It's kind of funny.....I have been wanting to launch a blog for over a year now. Although, I have been somewhat "blogging" on Haley's Caring Bridge for the past 2 1/2 years, I realized I needed a place where I could go and just be "me"!! A place where I can talk about things other than CF, let the world know some of my new directions in life, meet new friends (followers) who knows me for my life now and not only for what it has been for the past 10 years or so. When I decided that "blogging" was the way to go, I couldn't believe how much trouble I had coming up with the perfect "blog title" that fit ME!! That is when I knew....I tend to make things much more complicated than they should be. I have a new goal in life and I can proudly say I am now....Seeking Simplicity. Not only in the area of finding the perfect blog name, but in many other areas of my life.

I am very excited to open this blog and am looking forward to following others and maybe even finding new ways to live the "simple' life. Life's too short to live the hectic, crazy lives we live....

  5. Jennifer,

The blog looks great and I bet it will be very cathartic for you. I don't blog, but enjoy reading those of my friends. I have wondered about whether to start a Caringbridge or blog site when Jamie starts the transplant process. Let me know which you prefer. Blessings to you,

  8. I've been following your Caring Bridge site since Nate Lawrenson posted about Haley. I may have written on your guestbook once or twice, I don't remember. I've always felt connected to your family. My maiden name was Palmer and I've always thought perhaps some where way back there we are related, and so I felt connected to you and your family. I'm glad you've joined the blogging world. Do you mind if I add you to my blogroll? I look forward to reading what you have to say!

  9. Looking forward to getting to know you better over here!
The Lord is with you right now, lifting you up, giving you strength! Always praying!
Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
