Let's ZUMBA....

Ditch the Workout, Join the Fun!!
Exercise has always been a challenge for me, but I have recently discovered a new exercise / dance class called Zumba. It is a Latin rhythm aerobics class that is not only a workout, but a TON of fun!! Although, it is a "Latin" based class, the music alone will keep you coming back for more. One of my favorite Zumba songs, is the one that is playing with the video, but don't let that fool you....we dance along to Nickelback, Shakira, Miley Cyrus, Michael Buble' and many more.

So why "blog" about zumba??? Because like I said, exercise has always been a burden for me...and something that I felt I had to "fit" into my life although I didn't want to. It was one of those things that would put added "stress" on me to try and fit in, because I never found the type of exercise that was right for me. Now, I am making time to go to every Zumba class I can fit it. It is NO longer a challenge, or something that "complicates" my life! In fact, if I don't make it so Zumba, I feel like I am missing out!

So, to recap.... Tons of FUN, just makes you feel good, you get to hang out with all your friends, listen to some GREAT music, and burn the calories all at the same time! It don't get much better than that!!

Many of you don't know a little secret about me....
I'll get this blog up and running and I'll plan to share this with you around the 1st of March, then maybe you'll know why finding a workout that works for me is SO important!!

So....if you haven't already, step outside of your box and go ZUMBA!!!

  1. Great slide show, Jenn! I LOVE Zumba, too! Lara makes it so much fun! (Maria was great, too, but I've only been to one of her classes.) Zumba is addictive, isn't it? Like you, I struggle with exercise, too, because honestly, I'd rather be sitting on the couch or in front of the computer. I actually look forward to Zumba, though. There is a fun, social aspect to it as well, doncha think? It's so much fun and the hour flies by. I think I could do a 2 hour class!

  3. I'm a Zumba junky too. Make it to class usually 2 or 3 times a week as my cardio. I wish I could just do zumba but I realized last time I tried that, I wasn't seeing any results and quit. Now, I have learned that my body needs a lot of weights to build the muscle to burn up the fat. Now, I use Zumba as my reward for working hard on the weight/resistance machines and I've found the combination has kept me from being sore from either one. Crazy but it's working. Lost 5 pounds and have lost inches all over my body in just 2.5 weeks. Got back into my "skinny jeans" already and that made me happy. I'm glad we have both finally found what works for us. Keep up the great work!

  4. You're making me wait a whole month?! Don't know if I can handle that!
    Know that I'm praying!
Psalm 121:1-4: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

  7. Praying right now.
Psalm 121:5-8: The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

  8. I've always been afraid to try Zumba. It looks really fun but I have no dance background and I'm afraid I'll have trouble keeping up and look like and idiot while crashing into people and making them mad. Is it hard to learn?

  9. Ann, you would love it. The music makes it fun and before you know it the hour is over. The first few times we a bit tough, because you have to learn the moves....stick with it and before you know it, you'll be the "dancing queen". In fact, last night at Zumba, we were all talking about going out and dancing now!! Definitely outside my box, but looking forward to doing it. Certainly a confidence booster :)
Let me know if you try it!!

  10. Know that I'm continuing to pray!
John 14:1-3: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

  11. Always praying in Seattle!
I Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

  12. Praying!
Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
